What this app does

B2B PO Guard is a Shopify app that helps merchants require and validate purchase order (PO) numbers on B2B checkouts. It runs as an embedded app in the Shopify admin and uses a Shopify Function at checkout.

Data we process

• Shop and session data — shop domain, OAuth access tokens, and session records needed to authenticate the merchant and call Shopify APIs.
• App configuration — PO validation rules stored in shop metafields (for example required/optional, format rules, error message).
• Order-related metadata — when enabled, validated PO values may be written to order metafields. We do not sell order or customer data.
• Billing — subscription status is handled through Shopify App Billing; we do not store card numbers.

Where data is stored

The app is hosted on Vercel. Session data is stored in a Neon Postgres database. Shopify remains the system of record for shops, companies, checkouts, and orders.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share data only with infrastructure providers needed to run the service (for example Vercel and Neon), and with Shopify as required to operate the app, or when required by law.

Retention

Sessions and shop configuration are retained while the app is installed. After uninstall, we delete or anonymize stored session data for that shop within a reasonable period, subject to legal retention needs.

Your rights & contact

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
